Just make sure is 5.7 software. As this will be needed when switchover happens in your neck of the woods I have one which works very well with very low signal strength. The only proplem I get is with our military planes flying low, the signal breaks up may once or twice a week. We are 50>60 miles from the Caldbeck Tx and surrounded by hills. Doesn't that only apply to the T810 single record Vestel PVRs?
The Aria units are twin record so must be T816 ot T825. DTR rather than PVR in the model name confirms this. I did a huge comment on Aria's site last night detailing the finer points, but it wouldn't post Aria are giving the manufacturer's code as PVR160 (which would be T810) but their own description says DTR160. It's a bit risky if they don't know what they're selling - I'm not being sarky, it would be easy for a 'clerk' to mis-identify models. Parthena When I rang them a few weeks ago they confirmed that the units they were selling then had dual record and Accurate Recording but not Series Link which would make it a T816. Sociology Your Compass New World Ebook Library. Certainly wise to check what you are getting before purchase. I purchased the 80 Gb version from Aria - just got it 2 days ago and have to say what a neat little thing it is.
For 37.00 + Vat its a steal. Everything works well on that - twin tuner recording but no series link. I checked and it could be upgraded with newer firmware via the serial PC port to allow the series recording but there are reports that the firmware is quite unstable so will give it a miss. I presume the same firmware is available for the 160Gb model so just wanted to say that Aria have never let me down and use them all the time for PC parts. So far I can only recommend this unit. One thing I did also note - I think it has the accurate record since the manual says you can set a timed offset - start before actual time and after time etc - however this is not in the recording options screens anywhere. What software versions does it have? If it is 3.7 then it will be the T816 hardware and have Accurate Recording but not Series Link. Yes its the 3.7 version. I don't really want to upgrade that to the latest which I've seen on various sites because of stability reports - but I just noticed on the DGT site that there will be a firmware update next week for the T816 (DTR80), T815 so I think it may well upgrade so we'll see what version it changes to.
